When? Labor Day Weekend 2012

Where? NYC

As you may know, NYC is home to some of the top chefs in the world! Raw Food chefs are no exception to this. New York City is home to some of the best Raw Food Restaurants in the US, so we HAD to take a trip from the DMV to see for ourselves! Check our Visual Story! Click pictures for descriptions.

First Stop

Sun In Bloom

460 Bergen Street

Brooklyn, NY 11217

I must say, this was a damn good salad! Although the entire menu was not Raw, we appreciated the options - PLUS we had to get an appetizer to hold us over until the next place. We will be returning here for sure to explore more options.

On to the next one..

249 Centre St
(b/t Grand St & Cleveland Pl)
New York, NY 10013

Our experience here was very mediocre. The location in Soho has since closed.

263 East 10th Street
New York, NY 10009

This place is small and quaint but the food speaks VOLUMES! This was by far the best Raw cuisine we had in the city. If you are ever in town, check them out!

We went for their Sunday Brunch and everything we tried was phenomenal!!

Last but not least,

One Lucky Duck
 125 East 17th Street
New York, NY 10003

This place is the carryout side of Pure Food and Wine, an expensive raw eatery. We just stopped in for smoothies and desserts.

There were a number of places that we did not photograph or get around to such as:

Organic Avenue

461 Amsterdam Ave
New York, NY 10024
(212) 358-0500
...there are about 9 around the city, this one is the largest :)

Westerly Natural Market
913 Eighth Avenue
New York, NY 10019
(212) 586-5262

Rockin' Raw
171 Sullivan Street at Houston street
New York, NY
(718) 599-9333

Gingersnap's Organic
130 E 7th St
New York, NY 10009
(212) 533-9939

Next time you're in NYC, check out some of these places for yourself and let us know how you liked it! These raw eateries helped to set us on our RAW! path and we know they can both satisfy and inspire you as well!

Live Well. Eat RAW!
